Helping a million young people is just the start….

Today, we announced that we have exceeded the goal set out in O2’s Think Big Blueprint to help one million young people gain skills for life and lead community projects.

An amazing achievement – and the main driver behind O2’s investment and innovation in providing support to young people , including funding for projects using tech for social good, and running the GoThinkBig.co.uk platform to offer advice and access to work experience opportunities.

So what now?

Well, of course that’s not the end. We are continuing to invest in our youth programmes, learning from the experience and successes since we first launched our funding for projects back in 2010. We’ve got a great foundation to continue to build upon, so we’re aiming bigger.
We know that many other organisations want to help young people, and we know that if we collaborate and work together we can off more to young people. As we’ve done with GoThinkBig, working with 45 other employers to offer an amazing range of opportunities to get work experience.

We also know how digital and mobile can help people to access resources and opportunities, breaking down barriers, promoting social mobility and overcoming geographical exclusion. So we’re going to look at how we can use the power of digital to offer more , for example as we’ve done with our online ‘meet the apprentice’ webinar.

And what does it mean for you? It means more – more opportunities, more access, more ways to help you learn, lead and launch yourselves into a future that’s right for you.
